Tech at a Pivotal Crossroad

This is a defining moment for the Tech industry. What we do from this point on will be crucial to the next round of growth but even more important in building tech that continues to change the arc of human history.

We are required to make three big adjustments in this moment

1. Recalibrate rate of growth + reset wall street expectations. This has far reaching consequences on capital allocation, consequently on the overall trajectory of technological progress.

2.Manage growing reputation & "permission to grow" risks. The two intricately linked, require us to re-establish trust w society through all available means.

3. Mass pivot away from building trivial tech to non-trivial tech. In a world w limited resources this means - entrepreneurs rethink what they solve for, capital allocators become comfortable w slower wealth creation (solving hard, existential problems takes time).

These are neither easy nor simple but they’re necessary. In fact I’d argue they’re indispensable to ensuring tech remains at the forefront of developing human civilization through materially changing lives of ever greater numbers of people around the world.
